Bertrand DEROISY
Bertrand DEROISY joined T/E/S/S in 2022.
He holds a dual degree in engineering and architecture, having graduated from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) in 1998.
Bertrand DEROISY has built extensive experience in the technical design of façades, integrating architectural intentions, technical constraints, and environmental requirements. As a façade project manager at RFR, he contributed to projects such as the Tour Phare and the headquarters of Banque Postale. Previously, he also worked on large-scale projects such as the Liège-Guillemins TGV station, the Athens Olympic Stadium, and the Marseille Library (Adrien Fainsilber).
For over 12 years, he worked as a researcher at CSTC within the "Light" and "Façade Elements" laboratories, developing expertise in building physics and the characterization of envelope components in terms of thermal and visual comfort. His research particularly focused on modeling the performance of solar shading and other daylight control systems.
Bertrand DEROISY is also involved in the Belgian Institute of Lighting (IBE-BIV) and the French Lighting Association (AFE). He leads the expert group on natural lighting and contributes to European standardization efforts within CEN TC169 and CIE Division 3. He is also a member of ISSAF (International Solar Shading Academic Forum), an international platform of experts in solar shading.
Since 2021, he has been teaching natural lighting in buildings to Master’s students in engineering at the University of Brussels (VUB/ULB) and occasionally lectures at architecture schools, including ENSA Paris-Est.
