The D5 block represents the final plot within the extensive urban transformation of the ZAC Seguin Rives-de-Seine area in Boulogne-Billancourt, developed on the former Renault industrial site. Chartier Dalix Architectes has been commissioned by BNP Immobilier and Eiffage Immobilier to design the future headquarters of the automotive manufacturer, as well as to coordinate the architectural aspects of the real estate program. The project consists of four main sections, forming four residential or office buildings on the site. T/E/S/S is responsible for designing the various façade typologies.

The NEW R building, corresponding to Lot 1, is a high-rise building (IGH) reaching 60 meters in height. It is composed of several layers: a base integrating a lobby, a large showroom, and an auditorium; lower floors surrounded by continuous balconies with 1.50m-wide planters; an intermediate terrace level featuring a recessed glass façade creating a "wasp waist" effect in front of a suspended garden terrace. This level houses the company restaurant. Finally, the upper floors are equipped with a double skin featuring horizontal glazed louvers.

The ground-level façades, positioned between the structural columns, serve as display windows for the Renault showroom, which is highly open to the public space. Meanwhile, the rear façade along the private alley is clad with grating panels to conceal technical elements.

The lower section of the building, up to the 7th floor, follows a traditional concrete column-and-beam structure. The façades of the initial office levels create a backdrop behind the planted balconies. The large glazed openings provide an open view of the greenery in the foreground and the surrounding landscape.

The entire upper section of the building, from the 9th floor upwards, is suspended from a top metal framework supported by the central core. The restaurant level serves as a transition between the lower floors and the elevated structure above. This level features frameless glazing to enhance the panoramic view of Meudon’s hills, Paris, and the Seine River.

A double-skin façade was designed for the most exposed levels, integrating a solar shading system protected from the weather. The outer skin also allows for greater architectural expression of the upper section: inclined glass bands create a dynamic rhythm in the volume, extending openly to the sky up to the structural frame.

Beyond its architectural role, which enhances the project's identity, the double-skin façade improves overall façade performance and effectively protects the blinds on the exposed upper floors, ensuring their long-term durability. The building envelope is tailored to each level’s function, aligning with the structural systems and seamlessly integrating into the envisioned urban fabric of the development.
